Frequently Asked Questions

What are Visiting Hours at Bianchi Manor?

You may visit anytime, just as you would have before, being respectful of the other residents. It is usually better to visit after 10:00 am as the early morning hours are focused on assisting residents in getting the day started, eating breakfast and other associated tasks.

What is your caregiver to resident ratio?

Our caregiver to resident ratio varies depending on the number of residents, the level of care each of those residents requires, and the time of day. Bianchi Manor meets or exceeds industry standards for staffing ratios.

Do you serve three meals each day?

Yes, and snacks are provided between meals as needed. Special dietary needs are met and our cook tries to respond to individual preferences and tastes as much as possible. Meal time is a pleasant and enjoyable experience at Bianchi Manor. We strive to create an environment that encourages residents to eat a healthy and adequate diet.

How do you keep residents stimulated and busy?

We understand that each resident is an individual with unique interests, experiences and personalities. We learn as much as we can about each residents background, interests and needs so that we can encourage a level of activity and social life that is appropriate to their particular situation. An activity program is organized each month and typically includes music, games and showing of old movies or television programs. "Accordian Mike" and "Dan the Music Man" make monthly visits to Bianchi Manor.

Can the residents go outside?

A nice courtyard and garden are available to residents during the daytime hours. Depending upon the care needs of a resident, they may go outside individually or in a small group to enjoy the view, the sunshine and farm environment. Caregivers monitor who is outside to insure that security and assistance requirements are maintained.

Do you have a hospice waiver?

Yes. Bianchi Manor has a hospice waiver which allows us to provide care for those residents who chose to utilize a hospice option rather than be sent to a hospital for terminal care.

Is the rent tax deductible?

Yes, the rent is tax deductible. A portion of the rent you pay Bianchi Manor should be tax deductible. Have your tax advisor review the Internal Revenue Service Publication 502 (2000) "Medical and Dental Expenses". This publication can be retrieved from the IRS website at www.irs.ustreas.gov.
